Our policy for admitting Junior Members for Summer Membership.

We acknowledge the popularity of junior membership at the Grange Cricket Club and strive to strike an appropriate balance between offering membership to many, whilst ensuring we offer the quality of coaching and match-day opportunity which our Juniors deserve. Accordingly we do limit the number of Junior Members in each age category. We offer Membership for the summer season based on the following criteria:

Places are initially offered to those who were Junior Members in the prior summer (2021), and their siblings. This priority booking will be open for a limited time and will be publicised via our WhatsApp Groups.

Following a set time period for prior-summer members to re-join, and if spaces remain, we will then open it to those who were not Junior Members in 2021. We will publicise availability of Junior Membership via (i) an email to those who have contacted us to enquire about Membership, (ii) notice on our website, and (iii) notice via our WhatsApp Groups.

We do not manage a waiting list on a first-come-first-served basis. We sincerely apologise to people who are keen to get their children into the Grange Cricket Club – in an ideal world we would like to accommodate every child, but time, space, and the number of match-day teams limit what we can offer.

Please direct any queries to juniors@grangecricket.org.

We are happy to accept children who are approaching the end of Primary 1 upwards.

Cut-off for Junior Age Categories.

For the 2022 season the child’s age as at 01.09.2021 is what determines their age category (U10/U12/U14/U16). Occasionally a child will move ‘up’ an age group based on their development stage. Please register your child for the ‘correct’ age category, and a decision on moving to a different group will be taken by our coaches.

Moving to adult membership – if born on or before 01.04.2006 and therefore will be aged 16 or over on 01.04.2022, your son or daughter will need to join the Senior Club (see Membership). However, they will still qualify to play as a junior if they were aged under 16 on 01.09.21.

Any queries then please contact the Junior Secretary, Abhijit Chakraborty, by emailing juniors@grangecricket.org.

Grange Cricket Club branded clothing.

Close Brothers Asset Management kindly sponsor the Junior Stags and, therefore, we need to show our support by wearing their branded kit.  Certainly their Playing Shirts (Child’s Ivory) should be worn by the children in matches.  Grange CC Junior Stags Branded Kit (Gray-Nicolls) is available from our Webshop.

Helmets and Box: It is essential that all players playing hard ball cricket have their own helmet and a box is worn. Grange recommends a helmet that complies with the latest standards is worn by all our players.

Child Protection Policy and Procedures.

Any concerns or questions on the CP Policy and Procedures to the Child Protection Officer Ramsay Allan (H) 0131 332 5809 or (M) 07973 499 297.

If you can help then please state this in the membership form.
