Grange Women’s Cricket
Season 2023
Grange has recently re-established its Women’s team and welcomes new female members wanting to develop their cricketing skills or play at a competitive level in Edinburgh.
Prospective new members are very welcome to come along to one of our Wednesday evening practices for a taster session (see below).
Girls can also join one of our Junior age group categories (U10, U12, U14, U16). Our coaches will help ensure girls are placed in the appropriate group for their experience and development, which may not align exactly to their age. Details of Junior membership, training, any upcoming holiday camps are available on the Junior Stags page.
PRACTICE
Nets sessions for Women and Girls are held on Wednesday evenings, indoors from January to March and outdoors from April to August. These are run by our Director of Cricket, John Blain, who is one of the few Level 4 coaches in the UK.
Summer cricket coaching for Women and Girls starts on Wednesday 19th April from 7.00pm.
Run by experienced ECB qualified coaches.
Separate Women’s and Girls’ groups.
New members are most welcome. If you are coming to nets for the first time, please contact our Women’s team manager, Alexandra Lusty (alex.lusty@btinternet.com) or John Blain if you would like more information.
MATCHES
Our Women’s team compete in the Cricket Scotland Women’s Premier League and Beyond Boundaries Women’s T20 Scottish Cup. More information about the Women and Girls’ cricket pathways and fixture details are available on the Cricket Scotland website.
Grange also offers opportunities to play cricket at The Wee Bash events, designed for newer players to build match play experience and confidence in a fun environment.
