Grange Women’s Cricket

SEASON 2025

Grange has a dedicated Women’s section which welcomes new female members wanting to play at a competitive level or develop their cricketing skills in Edinburgh.

Prospective new members are invited to come along to one of our practice sessions for a taster. Please contact us at women@grangecricket.org or more information or just so we can make you welcome.

We are currently recruiting a dedicated lead coach for our women and girls section – find out more and apply here.

PRACTICE

Winter nets sessions for Women and Girls only will be held indoors at Westwoods@Fettes on nine Sundays (11:00am to 12:30pm), from 12th January to 30th March (except 9th & 16th February and 2nd March).  Players are grouped by experience, so sessions are open to all levels. Please email us on women@grangecricket.org to book a free taster space.

Details to follow for outdoor training, which will run from mid April to end August.

Training sessions are run by our experienced ECB qualified coaches, led by Director of Cricket, John Blain, who is one of the few Level 4 coaches in the UK.

MATCHES

Experienced players compete in the Cricket Scotland Women’s Premier League and Beyond Boundaries Women’s T20 Scottish Cup. Newer players can take part in the Challenger League and Challenger Cup, which are designed to build match play experience and confidence in a fun environment.

More information about the Women and Girls’ cricket pathways and fixture details are available on the Cricket Scotland website.

KIT

Grange provides match shirts for competitive games.  Branded women’s cricket clothing can be purchased from the Grange Gray Nicolls club shop.  If you need to borrow hardball equipment for a taster session or a match, please let us know at women@grangecricket.org.

GIRLS

Girls born on or after 1 September 2008 are welcome to train at our all female sessions, but can also join one of our Junior age group categories (U10, U12, U14, U16).  Our coaches will help ensure girls are placed in the appropriate group for their experience and development, which may not align exactly to their age.  Details of Junior membership, training, any upcoming holiday camps are available on the Junior Stags page.
